From my top floor studio window at Krowji Redruth, I am extremely fortunate to have an amazing view towards St Agnes Beacon on the North coast of Cornwall. For a landscape painter like myself, it made perfect sense to try and paint this view directly from the studio. I setup an easel near the window alongside a table fitted with a glass palette loaded with oil paints, ready to go at a moments notice. I would be working in another part of the studio but have one eye on the view from the window looking for interesting light or cloud formations. The year long project began on 13th February 2020 and continued through to its end on 13th February (I did another few days because I enjoyed it so much!). I made 120 oil studies during the year, capturing the changing landscape through the four seasons.
